2008 NETBALL WORLD CUP - GOLD COAST AUSTRALIA.

Players, Coaches and Team Managers would like to thank WINA for the best run tournament yet, we
did not do to well in the six side, but when it came down to our game (seven's) this was a different story.

The Men & Under 21 beat New Zealand for the first time ever and played Australia in the grand final,
but Australia had the edge on us and won the World Cup.  It was great to hear from players that where in the previous World Cup how South Africa had improved from way back then to this years tournament, as the tournament went on we just got better and better, we did not stand back for any of the other teams.  Our ball and skills level are on par with the rest of the world we just need to work on fitness and team work.

We hope to see six a side played in all arena's so that we can improve on our game as this is one of the games that will be played in the World Cup's in future.

Congrats to Sarah Dowding, Erin Whare, Patricia Skinner, Zelda Basson, Reghardt Jansen and Werner Basson for receiving recognition in the different categories well done, we are proud of you all.

Our South African umpires are the best and really stood up to the tough umpiring from the different countries.

We are now looking forward to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and the Tri-Series against England in 2009.

Thank you S.A.I.N.F. for making this happen.
